just a quick life update here, no recipes (sorry). remember that cake decorating course i mentioned a few posts ago? yea. i finished the first course about two weeks ago.
the courses i enrolled in were two of the complete set of four, which teaches the wilton method of cake decorating, from the basics of buttercream piping, to royal icing flowers and cake design, to fondant and gum paste modeling. i finished the first course, for buttercream and decorating basics, two weeks ago. each course consists of four classes, which, due to the schedule i enrolled in, allowed for very little time to prep or practice my techniques (which essentially means i need a lot more practice. not that i mind practicing.)
at any rate, i completed the exam and passed, which required each student to fill, frost, design, and pipe the design onto a 8in. pound cake, with whatever other specifications your instructor asked for.
my color scheme was inspired by a bridal bouquet ad i saw on the side bar of my facebook page.... well. go figure.
the real thing had colors that looked almost identical to the inspiration picture, but it's kinda really blue in the pictures.... ah well.
ahahha just kidding. i'm a perfectionist when it comes to food styling.
